 Practice the following dialogue with your friend, then find out the useful expressions of Showing Care

Dialogue 1
Alvred : Are you free today?
Putri : Yes, I'm free. What’s the matter?
Alvred : Good then. Would you like to visit Erik with me?

   He is sick, he had a car accident.
Putri : I'm sorry to hear that. I would love to go, But how shall we get there?
Alvred : How about going by taxi?
Putri : I'm afraid I Can’t. I always get carsick.
Alvred : It's O.K. We can go by motorcycle then.
Putri : Can you give me a ride?
Alvred : Why not? I'll pick you up at 8 a.m.
Putri : Alright. I'll be waiting you.

Dialogue 2

Emi : Hi, Emma. What's up? You look so sad.
Emma : Yea, my grandpa died last night. 
Emi : Really? I'm sorry to hear that. 
Emma : Thanks. 
Emi : If I'm not mistaken, he is in Bandung, right? 
Emma : Yes. We haven't visited him yet. 
Emi : Does your family plan to go to Bandung? 
Emma : Yes. Tonight. We are going to leave for Bandung. 
Emi : Oh, I hope your family will be fine.
Emma : Thanks a lot, Rina.

 

Dialogue 3

Bryan : Hello, Paula. How are you? You look depressed. Has anything gone wrong?

Paula : Yes, Bryan, I have a terrible misfortune.

Bryan : What happened?

Paula : I had deposited all money I had in a private banking company. Now the bank has been liquidated.

Bryan : How terrible! Isn’t there any way you can get your money back?

Paula : I’m trying. But I’m not very hopeful.

Bryan : You must be terribly upset. But please don’t lose hope.

Paula : Thanks Bryan

 

Dialogue 4

 Mr. Steven : Good morning, teacher.

Mr. Grant : Good morning, Mr. Anton. Anita has been absent for the last two days. Is she unwell?

Mr. Steven : She had an accident.

Mr. Grant : Oh, no! I hope it’s nothing serious.

Mr. Steven : It is bad. She was hit by a scooter while crossing the road. Her right leg is fractured.

Mr. Grant : How unfortunate! Is she in a hospital?

Mr. Steven : No, she’s at home. But she has to remain in bed for a month. So I came to give her leave application.

Mr. Grant : You must be really upset about it. Please don’t worry about the classes. Anita is a very bright girl. She can easily make up for the classes she misses. She’ll be allright very soon. Please give her my regards.

Mr. Steven : I’ll do that. Thank you, teacher.
